Feb 27, 2023, 16:02 PM

There's so much to see and do at the show this year, and you’ll definitely want to start with these special exhibits and events:

  1. Get to the Main Stage on Friday, March 3 (at 6 pm) and Saturday, March 4 (at 1 pm) for an entertaining, informative presentation and Q&A session with Kevin O’Connor. It’s likely you are familiar with Kevin in his role as host of the pioneering home improvement TV shows This Old House and Ask This Old House. Make sure to bring your home and garden how-to questions, as Kevin’s extensive experience means he’s got lots of good info to share!

  2. For a welcome taste of springtime, take in the Garden Area’s inspirational gardens, water gardens and outdoor living exhibits from some of the region’s top landscapers. Check out new techniques, ideas and must-have products from A.H. Reiff Landscape Supply, Burdge’s Water Gardens and Jesse James Hardscaping while enjoying the lush plantings and landscapes. While in the Garden Area, select from an abundance of fresh, colorful blooms to bring home from Hydrangea Haus’ Pop-Up Flower Market, and plants and garden decor from Ashcombe Farm & Greenhouses’ unique Fern mobile plant shop.

  3. When you’re ready for a leisurely break, wind your way over to Juniata Valley Winery’s relaxing Wine Garden, located in the Garden Area. That’s where you can sample (and purchase) some of their locally-produced wines in a pretty garden setting.

  4. Wondering how to handle a garden pest, or what kind of tree is best for your yard? Located near the Garden Area is Let It Grow!, where visitors have the unique opportunity to learn from the experts. Representatives from Penn State Extension of the Master Gardeners, the PA Hardwoods Development Council, the Governor’s Invasive Species Council, and other horticultural groups are there to answer your questions, and help you to keep on growing.

  5. You’ll rethink your own living and work spaces after experiencing Container Creations - shipping containers that have been repurposed into innovative, functional rooms by Recon Recycled Container Systems. See how these completely customizable containers are more than just eco-friendly spaces - they are recycled luxury.

  6. We’ve made it easy for you to shop for one-of-a-kind home décor and gifts  at Harrisburg’s Homegrown Market. The open market-style area features many artisans and retailers offering antiques, original artwork, and homemade and finely-crafted items.

  7. The show really does have something for everyone, including cornhole fans! Play some fun games and taste micro-distilled, premium spirits in the Whiskey Backyard, where Hazard’s Distillery is offering samples and sales of their locally-made, handcrafted libations.

  8. For many of us, the bedroom is a low-priority room for a new design, and an overlooked opportunity to express our style. Ethan Allen will help you Design Your Dreams to achieve bedroom bliss, as seen in their display of beautiful design bedrooms that marry function with style.

  9. Don't forget to visit The Barking Lot pet market to bring home something for four-legged family members! Pets will enjoy the toys, treats, and accessories, while you’ll feel good about a portion of the vendor sales going to support the important work of Canine Rescue of Central PA.

  10. Our friends at Canine Rescue of PA are bringing some of their adorable, adoptable dogs for a Doggie Fashion Show on Saturday, March 4. Be at the Main Stage at 12 pm to see them strutting their stuff in style!
